New
seat design was introduced in 1978 Pace Cars
and these seats became standard options for all
1979 Corvettes. These seats were big improvement
over the ones in earlier. However lot has happened
since and many new seat models have been introduced.
I'm going to use my car for all sorts of racing
and that's why I wanted to have 4-point harness.
The car is still going to be a street car and
the seats should provide good support and comfort.

After
long search for seats I had three different choices,
one was to use late C4 Corvette seats, second
was Recaro
Style and third was Sparco
Milano. After I saw Sparco's
in black leather there was no doubt in my mind.
The seats have tilt option which allows easy access
to the rear compartment. They also have adjustable
lumbar support. I used Sparco's
universal seat rails to mount the seats in place.
The seats are very tight fit, but once in place
they are unbelieveble seats to sit on. I highly
recommend them to everyone looking for a seat
upgrade, no matter what car!
Please
visit Sparco's
web site for more information. |

From
day one of this project I wanted to do something
about the original gauges. I saw some Autometer
gauges mounted in C3 on Corvetteforum.com
and that made up my mind. I wanted to get some
Autometer
UltraLite gauges. Another nice custom touch
in the interior are the Sparco
pedals. I wanted to spice up the black interior
with some shiny bits and these pedals did just
that. I decided to get some more shiny parts inside
the car and we fabricated nice gauge bezels for
the new Autometer
gauges. In the center console I have Vintage
Air's air condition controls,
made out of polished billet aluminum, naturally. |

The
door panels are original ones with new black leather
trim. All the plastic window etc. moldings were
dyed in black. Dash got a new overlay from ECKLER's
.Carpet is new black one and the rear storage
compartment door were also retrimmed in black
leather. In those three compertments I have OPTIMA
battery, which is must in my opinion on every
car which has battery inside the car. Behind the
passengers seat storage I have mounted new fuse
box and relays. The stock location in the firewall
is very prone to dirt, water and dust.
If
you are wondering about the In Car Entertainment,
I have to disapoint you. Only tunes you'll hear
in this car are the ones blasting from the side
pipes! |
