Custom Made Fuel Tank

Once I had the car back together after the body off restoration the car wasn't gettting enough fuel. We I started inspecting what the cause might be I noticed a small leak in the gas tank. It was easy to spot the leak, since I had cleaned the tank and painted it. Soon I had the tank out and I tested it with some water and realized that there wasn't just one leak, but three!

So it was time to fabricate a custom tank. A friend of mine, who specializes in stainless steel and aluminum custom work helped me out to make this happen. It's all aluminum construction with traps inside to prevent the gas to move too freely in the tank. We used the stock gas cap. Due the fuel starvation we also installed a Hi-Volume IN-TANK fuel pump, this was the cure for the fueling problem plus it is also a lot more quiet than the in-line pump was. Just to be sure we have two extra fuel line outlets on both sides of the tank...
